Reviews from visitors:
I think it's an interesting old market, unfortunately I visited it during the lockdown and out of high season. So I think in high season it is full of merchants and original goods from Crete. Most vendors speak English and always have some basic words from many other languages. If you want herbs, mountain tea, traditional cheeses, fish and meat. Souvenirs. You can buy all this here.
The oldest market in Chania from the beginning of the century. The last decades is more touristy but still you can find local products with the best Cretan- Mediterranean quality
Old fashioned in layout but traditional style suits it's ambiance perfectly. Most stalls are fresh meats etc, good quality and reasonable prices. Also boutique type tourist souvenir shops and clothes shops with very good range of casual ware, particularly T-shirts.I particularly liked the one with slightly saucy girl with legend "I never said that I was a GOOD girl " Reminds me of someone !
Very nice set up for people to go for a little walk around and chose from a variety of herbs and teas and traditional sweats, ornaments and more......
The place offers a wide variety of natural products since beauty products till vegetables, meat, fish, and obviously olive products. I'll recommend you buy Greetan mountain tea absolutely delicious
