Very photogenic location. Walk out to the lighthouse for great views of the old town and harbour. But beware the terrain is very difficult. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Lots of nice eateries around here.
In my opinion, this harbor (including the lighthouse) is the most charming, and idyllic man-made structure in Crete. It was built in the 14th century and now is packed with bars, cafes, restaurants, night clubs, taverns, etc. Many people think that the very end of the harbor, right where it reaches the breakwater is where the best sea food restaurants are located. I prefer the ambiance of this part of the harbor better than the rest, as it gets less crowded and is more quiet.
Hot-spot, the heart of Chania, like a journey to the time with a lot of nice cafe and bars, but also with some aged 70's tourist spots with food and drinks. Beautiful anyway. Must.
