CoCa has been an institution in Ōtautahi Art exhibitions for a very long time with a long history of innovative and exciting local art to enjoy for any visitors! Please do come along if you are in Christchurch. My photo here shows an example of lathe cut vinyl records and sleeve art from the most recent exhibition. Stunning! Come have a look.

The building itself is an art work. An interesting unique glass structure. Entry is free but you can pay a donation. There are many interesting traditional and contemporary art exhibitions on display. Even if you are not an art lover its definitely worth a visit.

My first attempt to mount an exhibition - now showing at this gallery -
was scary.
However Dr Liz Boldt, the Community Arts Development Co-ordinator has been so helpful and understanding it's working really well. The Gallery space is superb with lovely light to show off the wide range of art works in AFTERSHOCKS Eastside exhibition.
Japanese folded cranes, folded for the people of Christchurch in March, 2011 look gorgeous and can be taken as a healing act to end our Shaky Decade.

The wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff make a good shop great; This shop is certainly a great shop! I took a trip here last week for some pens and left with exactly what I was looking for plus a heap of advice about the projects I'm working on. Local artwork showcased throughout the large well stocked shop floor from postcards to painting, inks to epoxy. Stock choices are clearly made through experience working with it give The Drawing Room all of the touches that make a good independent art shop such as this the place to go. This certainly isn't the kind of shop where you'll get scoffed out for being a novice nor met with a blank look if you ask a complex question. A great place, I think I've found my one stop shop for art supplies!
