Really beautiful place. It's excellent that all the shops and restaurants are across the street so there is technically no "cheesy" boardwalk that crowds the beach. The Pier is a great landmark starting place to find your place on the beach. Clearwater provides umbrellas, chairs, and cabana huts (for a fee). It's one of the more scenic and comfortable beaches we've been to in our travels. I would definitely agree with Clearwater City calling Clearwater Beach one of the best beaches in the U.S. It has earned that reputation.
Right in the center of one of the busiest spots of Clearwater Beach, Florida, this Pier is a popular location to come for tourists and locals alike. Nearby, there are many seafood restaurants, tourist stores with many souvenirs and clothes, and many resorts in the area as well. This area is very busy especially during Spring Break and during the peak weeks in the summer.
Tip: Bring a camera to capture the scenery.
Tip 2: Bring a picnic meal to enjoy on the beach.
Omg how much we love Clearwater Beach and it's small but stunning piece of beach and the pier... At home in the Netherlands we keep thinking of the wonderful times my family always have there. It's clean, the water is pristine, the sand is white, palm trees, relaxed people, it's just such a serene place. We usually visit Clearwater Beach in May and June, so not so many crowds. Recommended!
A great way to see the Gulf of Mexico without getting into a boat. This pier stretches its arm 1,080 feet out from the shore into the sea, and for only $1 you can walk all the way out to the edge and watch the sunset, which is always AMAZING!
In addition, you can fish off the pier, or rent fishing rods in the little bait shop for $8 (or watch the pelicans fish, too!) Or get yourself souvenirs or get a sun hat, flip-flops, postcards, or seashell magnets to send to grandma back home in the Midwest.
There are also crafts vendors little booths lining the pier selling jewelry, usually after 5pm, selling candles, artworks, and other items unique to a visit to Clearwater Beach. All of which is on the free half of the pier.
The pier is open year round, and in most cases open late, until at least 11pm or even midnight. There is also a huge parking lot that you pay by the hour $3 or $4 per hour, as well as street parking all along the beach. And near the parking lot is an ice cream place with beach items, street performers, and shower stands to wash the sand from between your toes.
An excellent place for sunset selfies and feeling the gusty salty air from the repetitive waves splashing onto the beach. If you visit Clearwater Beach, Pier 60 is mandatory! Enjoy!
Great place to walk and watch the sun set. Benches along the way. Cute shop for souvenirs. $1 to walk to the end of the pier. The pelicans and quail are friendly, so you can get a pretty close look at them but don't get too close!
