1 Museum of Contemporary Art of the Municipality of Cusco

It's a very small museum. You can view pretty much everything in 20 minutes. There are more items on the second floor accessible from the courtyard.
2 EKEKOS SAN BLAS -art & COLORS

Truly amazing artwork. Family owned with a network of other artists. An associate or owner named Jefferson had an amazing amount of knowledge. I found exactly what I was looking for but it had a ding on it. Jefferson having craftsmanship skills himself and all the tools, fixed it up and packaged it for me for travel. No joke, I spent 3 hours walking around looking for a store like this and this was it! If you want the best artisan/craftsman work cusco has to offer , this is the store.
3 Museo de Arte Precolombino

Lot of arts display in this Museo de Arte Precolombino, good place if you wanna understand more about Inca art development.
If you have more time to visit here, you can always use the free audio guide to understand every single piece of art in details

Rather surreal place. A round grassy hill is topped by massive stone walls. Amazing is not just size of the stones, but the way the stones are interlocked. They remind us of a puzzle made by some unknown giants. Why such massive walls were needed in this rather benign place is a mystery.
Anyway I would remember this place for rest of my life.
5 San Pedro Market

Wonderful market with very affordable prices. I come every day and get a fresh large smoothie and amazing fruit salad for 9 soles (less than $2.50) you can buy great cheese, tons of produce, meat, chocolate, spices, meals, ponchos, sweaters, bags, all number of great things for very cheap here.
6 Xapiri Ground

Lovely shop, my partner and I are thrilled that they finally added an online shop! We love visiting them in person and can spend hours fascinating over their precious one of a kind pieces and browsing their unique collection of indigenous artifacts, but as that isn’t possible their website is sufficient for shopping quite a bit of their collection (and reading about their wonderful work in supporting community through these times)
Thank you, Xapiri!
7 Qorikancha

Unique building with a fairy-tale history. It used to be Incas' Temple of Sun, is walls covered with gold and garden made of golden flowers and animals. All these golden treasures, of course, were looted and destroyed.
But the massive foundations withstood everything. Now they support Spanish church. This place is symbol of both disruption and continuity.
8 Twelve Angled Stone

The wonders of Inca construction and engineering - just like a puzzle, the pieces slot in together. Wandering around the streets of Cusco, you'll be delighted with examples of Inca ingenuity.
9 Templo del San Blas

One of the most photogenic view points in Cusco! Go there to met sunset and take amazing photos!
10 Museo y Catacumbas del Convento de San Francisco de Asis de Cusco

Not a busy spot and a guide is included in the price (tour was about 30 minutes). We were the only two on the tour! :) Pay the extra 5 soles to go to the bell tower, the scenery from up there is stunning! You can't take pics inside, but you can take pics from the bell tower and also in the gardens/courtyard.
11 Iglesia De Santo Domingo

Shame it builds on inka's ruins.
Worth a visit.

12 Traditional Textile Center of Cusco

There is a tiny museum inside the store and no picture is allowed. It shows you the detailed description of the Inca textiles technology and history. It is quite informative if you are interested in the local clothes and accessories. There are three Inca ladies waving in the traditional way inside the store. Every products has a label with the maker’s photo, name and details on it. A small to medium sized cloth bag cost approximately 70 USD.
13 San Francisco

Breathtaking artwork. I'm an atheist but very spritually moved by these works. I struggle to reconcile the beauty of these places, the wealth of the church and the barbaric acts committed worldwide by the Spanish in the name of Catholicism. Weird huh?

We took MachuPicchu day tour from CuscoPeru and it was the best experience we ever had. They sent one of the staff members a night before the tour to help us prepare for a day long trip. Tour guide explained a lot of history in English very well. Overall, it was a pleasant and unforgettable experience. Must do if you are in Peru!!
15 MACHU TRAVEL PERU

We are very happy about the service we hired, no regrets at all... It was really good because it was a last-minute trip, and the agency helped us to make it in less than one week. Quick answers to mail, liable, responsible and the best experience in Peru itself.
16 Inkaterra La Casona

Gorgeous 5-star hotel in Cusco. A very authentic vibe to it and super luxurious. Delicious and comprehensive breakfast! Friendly staff and fabulous ambiance. They have fireplaces in the rooms - just make sure you get someone to assist and open the flue!
18 Mercado de artesanías

Stop, shop and haggle. It's not a "real" market, but just a big, extended tourist shop. None the worse for that if you like the goods and prices. Around the edge are bars, cafes and eating places. It's a reasonable, compact place to get that toy llama or silly hat.
I try to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in December 2025. Help me make this page better, for example by letting me know of a street art that should be on the list. Click here to get in touch. Thanks!
