Reviews from visitors:
Installed as part of the promotional campaign for 2014 Commonwealth Games, this mural is part of a series depicting various sports. Completed by the same artist, the other murals were installed adjacent to Partick Train Station and represent hockey, netball and rugby. The Badminton mural includes action shots of Scotland player Kieran Merrilees and conveys the speed of the game, as well as the athleticism required to succeed in such a competitive sport.
It is amazing to look at, all the small details, even the background brickwork enhances the mural. It really brightens up the area, and it is probably part of the heritage, worth a visit.
Badminton mural is part of the Glasgow City Mural Trail, a collection of over 20 murals situated across the city centre providing an invigorating walk or a exceptional pub crawl depending on your ethos. The murals vary in their size and quality but it's art by the people for the people and no stuffy gallery involved. This mural is on a gable end, the scale of it adds to the difficulty factor .
