Our Road Scholar group visited Muraleando and the community members were welcoming and talented. Some of our favorite artworks were acquired here, and sharing in the dancing, music, and food was an opportunity for genuine interactions with folks that we otherwise would not have been able to meet. Seeing an abandoned tank that has been turned into a thriving community center was inspirational, and a lot of fun.
Voted TIME magazines world's greatest places in 2019, needless to say Fabrica de Arte Cubano is not only a museum, its a bar, club, art museum, rooftop bar, dance arena. It's multiple levels of pure fun. I could go on forever about the night I had in Fabrica. Lot's of international visitors as well. I believe the cover was $5-10 dollars. Well worth every penny. There was a line to get into the establishment as well.
Excellent alternative art space, Outisder art and Art Brut. Samuel and Derbis are also artists, very good hosts and organizers. I love coming to this place!
At a time when many galleries all over the world are seriously considering closing their premises at street level due to their high cost and low incidence in sales, José Busto, the director of the gallery Avistamientos, has managed to bring collectors and people of excellent taste closer to the best Cuban artistic projections in their different formats.
Visiting his website provides an excellent approach to pictorial works of Cuban creators, highly appreciated and chosen in the art world, mainly as far as European and American collectors are concerned. Those interested in acquiring works may find a special place and an exquisite attention in terms of sales and fast and accurate shipment conditions.
Leonardo has been featured around the world yet never left his island sanctuary. He is a young icon of Old Havana and has managed to forge his path despite the seemingly unsurmountable adversities his crumbling surroundings have imposed upon him. He can also be seen in Bye Bye Havana, one of the best Cuba documentaries of the past decades.
It's a great place where you can know the old side of the capital of Cuba. There you can find amazing sculptures, monuments and nice buildings made a long time ago.
This place is the most melancholic and expressive of the whole Havana. Just by walking you can meet hundreds of different personalities (artists, fishers, kids playing, couples, sport lovers, photographers, painters etc..). When we visited there were also different art installations which were somehow connected with the wind and the sea. amazing.
Went here for the art, nearly left as we couldn't find it. Luckily a shop owner told us it was upstairs. If you love art you can easily spend hours here. The most amazing artwork I've found with a huge variety. Haggle prices and shop around. Went back again and brought more unique artwork.
