Vi virus not much shop or people
Crazy huge market, the food vendors serve up delicious food - very inexpensive. It's a tourist trap, tons of things you don't need. If your looking for knock off goods this is the place. I recommend when bartering negotiate 1/3 of what they're asking for a a start. If you don't get close to the 1/2 of the price walk away... I like it, fun to see and people watch :)
No different from any Vietnamese market. One sees the same merchandise everywhere. My best guess is that most of it comes from China. The prices are good.
The quality is questionable. A great place to visit on s rainy or very hot day!
it's a fun place for tourists with lots of souvenirs and other local products. However, bargaining is a must here, since pricing is ridiculously higher than usual. Besides, most recommended activities at Ben Thanh Market is trying out fruit smoothies and local delicacies.
This is one market place not to be missed when in HCMC, Vietnam. It can be categorized into 3 segments namely dry clothes/electronics, fresh seafood/vegetables/fruits and street food stalls. Cheap bargains can be found here especially for clothes and attires. It caters mainly to tourists in general and long term residents who have higher expections on seafood quality though not necessarily inexpensive. In fact the prices cost approx 20% more as compared to other local markets. Overall, the atmosphere is quite interesting as it has the elements of Vietnamese lifestyle and culture that blend into their every workday. It is alright to bargain when making a purchase..the vendors are all familiar with customer's expectations.
