Reviews from visitors:
We went to this studio for Russian Doll Painting Workshop. Overall, the atmosphere is very cozy, with soft background music and good lighting. As they offer a variety of workshops, it's definitely a place to try on a rainy day or if you're feeling creative.
Broken product, very poor customer service, will not come back!
We signed up for the Cement Art workshop. Upon arrival, we were given minimal instructions and little assistance along the way. Halfway through the workshop, the instructor left the location.
Sadly, my Cement piece cracked immediately after taking it home :( After contacting Aura Art, not only would they not provide an explanation or any assistance in fixing it, but they actually called me to shout at me, then hung up.
Honestly haven't had such a poor customer service experience in HK (for a class that's not cheap either). Will not return and don't recommend others to go here either. Plenty of other art jam places to choose from.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Recently, I went to Aura Art for a Moss Terrarium experience, which was a voucher I redeemed using my AsiaMiles. It was a voucher good for 2. When we arrived at the studio, check-in was simple and easy, and the staff seated us in a timely manner. One of the staff came over with materials needed for the terrarium, did a brief introduction and gave us simple instructions for the first few steps. It felt like everything was going well until we realized we had to constantly call the staff over for help and instructions for the next steps. Making a terrarium was straightforward but the staff at this studio paid no effort in walking over to check on progress or providing guidance during the entire experience. The staff on duty were just chilling behind the reception and chatting away most of the time.
What was most ridiculous is that they did not provide tweezers. (First strike) It was extremely frustrating as you are dealing with super tiny objects in a small glass bowl. We asked for one and they told us, “we ran out.” How can you run out of something that is not consumable? Either they don’t have any in stock (which is unacceptable if you are running such a workshop) or that the staff did not care to thoroughly search for one. Even more shockingly is that they did not have proper packaging for such a fragile product for us to take home. They ended up packing it in a very poor and primitive way and let me surprise you, the whole thing was wrecked when I got home. I seriously thought it was a joke. (second strike) I immediately called them and the most they could offer was to give me extra materials to redo it at home.
When I reread the course description on Spoilt (platform they used to advertise their courses), the experience was nowhere close to what they said they would offer. Did not even receive the water nozzle and soft drink that they said were included in the price. (Another strike – and the FINAL strike that motivated me to write this review)
I guess I’d like to warn future customers to consider other art studios instead as staff here lack professionalism and passion. Do not advertise courses if you are not well equipped for it. I cannot imagine how I would feel if I had paid for the course with cash instead of a voucher.
Make your own Moss Terrarium today, 2 hours experience, 10x10cm glass sphere to assemble moss terrarium on your own design with plant and mini figurines. It’s not easy to add those little pieces in it. Most difficulty is to have them stable in its places. Finally when arrived home, your fantasy was partially collapsed. Need time to safe it back.
Be warned their opening hours are not as advertised. Can lead to waste of your time and a trip just to find a closed door. Recommend calling before you go.
