Reviews from visitors:
We thought this place was a little hyped up. It was so crowded with people taking photos that it was hard to enjoy the forest. It's just like a short trail filled with bamboo, and there's just masses of people trying to get photos near them. It's not really very peaceful. Would recommend looking into smaller bamboo tree forests in the area to truly enjoy.
Note: Visited prior to Covid, so things may be different.
Arashiyama is in the far west of Kyoto, tucked along the base of the Arashiyama Mountains (meaning “Storm Mountains”). It’s a fair distance from the center of Kyoto: whether you go by train, bus, bicycle or taxi, you’re generally looking at about a 30-minute trip. Still, it’s worth it for the number of great sights here.
Despite the rain
It was too full.
Each store is full of people
The Togetsu Bridge is a little crowded with tourist buses and people!
I tried a kimono kid here and there.
Is it rented?
A coffee shop near the Arashiyama station where I spent
It was opened with two middle-aged employees.
Sandwich Lots of vegetables
I never ate
A cup of Kyoto vegetables!
It was very delicious.
I waited a long time to do that.
It is also a sandwich that you will want to eat.
Coffee ☕️ is also good
I don't know the name of the store.
Too crowded and the fense obscures the views. There are better spots to enjoy the tranquility of a bamboo forest.
I love the view at the bridge. So peacefull and beautiful. Worth to visit. I love sitting around the bridge and enjoy the view better than strooling at the bamboo groove.
