Nice steep street where street art, old stones and the yellow tram meets. You can find different graffittis that change now and then. I recommend to walk the hill instead of getting the tram and to stop to contemplate the different pieces :)

We did a private tour with my parents up on the hills of Mouraria and Graça. The tour was led by the wonderful Véro, an anthopologist passionate about street art. She explained us very thoroughly the context, the history and the unknown world of street artists. She showed us legal pieces as well as illegal pieces, explaining the differences. Thank you so much Véro for this wonderful experience, I vividly recommend to anyone that is interested in street art. Plus, you get to know two lovely neighborhoods of Lisbon!

A decent project of a bunch of street artists - still sad to see so many uninhabited places in the city, when so many people struggle on the street.

It was neat to see, but as with any street art anyone can come along and throw a tag on top of it. As of July 2019 most of these "art pieces" were still pretty well preserved.

A magnificent colorful and joyful fresco on the walls of this school, in this district, between Graça and Penha da França, which is full of beautiful murals, original azulejos, and which is still totally ignored by tourists, wrongly, since on foot we are very close to 2 unmissable miradouros (viewpoints) of Lisboa! And the wooden tram passes there 100 meters ...

Best paint shop I've been to around the world. Besides having a whole selection of Loop and 94 etc., the music, tacos, gallery space and beers give a nice chill atmosphere; and the people are super looooovely there too xx
Great for non-writers too!

This is a really interesting and unique area in Lisbon, with a totally different vibe to other parts of the city. It used to be a factory and all the buildings and outhouses have now been converted into cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries and public spaces. There is some very interesting street art to see, there are often buskers and musicians performing on the streets, and you can tell it's a place where creative people like to gather. There are also spectacular views of the Tagus river and the bridges from here. If you have been to the Soho Factory area of Warsaw, then this has quite a similar vibe, very hipster. It's definitely worth visiting if you're exploring Lisbon and have a few hours to spare.

This is my favourite modern art museum in Europe. I've been to most of the popular ones across all of the capital EU countries and this one blows me away. Even having Covid-19 measures in place this museum still provides a mind blowing experience. It's conveniently located across from the Tower of Balem so it makes for a perfect transition from sighting seeing to art exploration!
I do my best to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in September 2024. If you know of a street art that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
