Reviews from visitors:
I just had my second visit to The Makeup Artist and I'm absolutely happy with their work. You can just name it and they will create it! Grace is amazingly talented and such a kind and friendly person. I would definitely recommend.
I can't recommend The Makeup Artist highly enough. I have visited several times for lessons and training in makeup artistry and am longing to do one of the full courses they offer. This lovely studio is run by a talented and friendly group of skilled professionals with many years of experience in the industry. If you want your makeup done for a special occasion, training to become a makeup artist yourself or any other makeup requirements this is place to go.
I booked in the Mrs for 'Do over' as she'd say as a special treat! She had a fantastic day and came away looking even more beautiful than ever. She's going back for round two soon...I'm not paying this time! ;)
Me and 3 of my friends and got our makeup done here on Saturday. Not one of us were happy with the end result. I certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone of my friends. There phone manner wasn't great, answered with a straight hello no induction of its the business phone. I suffer with breakout which so happened this weekend and when said to the young girl that I will need FULL coverage, she did barely any and when I encouraged her to do more, well I maybe as well be talking to a wall. I then has to go home a re do my entire face. My friend asked for something natural and what she ended up with wasn't even subtle. There was no conversation just look up, look down, close your eyes. Straight in straight out attitude. We were just happy we had time to go home and tweek or re do out make up! This is a studio for people to learn to do makeup and they will be practicing on you. They rushed it, I've had my make up done many of times and it's never took 40 mins, way to rushed. I can't fault this place enough!
My appointment was nothing like its described on their website. I arrived and walked into the studio, which was full of people who work there, and no one bothered to acknowledge that I was there for my appointment so I was left standing awkwardly for ages with not even a seat never mind a complementary drink. My make up felt rushed, she barely made conversation so it was hard to describe what I wanted my make up to look like. She basically did her own thing which I wasn't happy with. To make everything worse, the following day after I got my make up done I got a cold sore (I never get these) so I believe it came from the lip stick or the brushes the make up artist used. I was going on hoilday a few days later so I was fuming. Would NOT recommend at all.
