Reviews from visitors:
A place for creation with a great urban ambiance. A lot of artists worth visiting in their atelier!
Good artist spot, nice music, really good food. It seem it will stay like this for a year and will then be transformed in a high standing hotel...
Beautiful urban wasteland and artists' residence. The fort building itself looks very beautiful but it's a shame because we only have access to the top terrace. Coming for a particular event I really liked the atmosphere, take advantage before it disappears (real estate project)
Between a center for migrants and a future luxury hotel, the city of Lyon provides the St Laurent barracks and its beautiful view (hence the name of the adjoining square) has a cultural association.
There is a glaring gap between humanitarian aid and the luxury economy. Admittedly, the Croix-Roussienne hotel industry is lagging behind, but it seems that the hotel project is not unanimous ... Moreover, the site would attract the envy of a wise man as it offers a unique point of view on the city.
Regarding the Strong Overlay initiative.
From my point of view, which is highly subjective, I would say that cultural management is now well integrated by young people. Yes, we live in a commercial world, yes, all work deserves pay but an artificial aftertaste looms in my palate. A taste that the cuisine of the 'Petite Syriennes, the food truck installed in the courtyard, cannot dispel.
After paying a 3euros membership, we have the right to enter the courtyard of the barracks with our card (plastic). The Heritage Days also do well, for free.
Tables and benches, two speakers (there is sometimes a DJ and more entertainment ... but not last night ... it smells of back to school), a bar tucked away in the garage and a not ugly but too succinct exhibition by Florina Perez in a room as large as a studio.
The veggie plate (or not) of the Petite Syrienne is 8 euros, the half at 3.5 (plus the rental of the glass at 1 euro, refundable before 9.45 p.m.!), Cider (on tap, very good idea though) , at the indecent price of 4.5 ...
In the end, the bill is a bit for a young audience and without too much money, whereas on the other side of the wall, Place Bellevue offers no identical panorama. A good Belgian beer bought from the nearby Red Devils will bring you at least comparable satisfaction.
Like what, the superposition of cultural concepts does not necessarily make culture.
This fort is a great spot, incredible view from the terrace! Too bad the exhibit was in a fairly small room though.
