Reviews from visitors:
Magical place. I love coming here. Simple as that.
The exhibition's are nice but my favourite part is the cafe! I have returned here many times just to have soup of the day for lunch and enjoy the views of whitworth park. Especially lovely when it's sunny !
Do not waste your time, the exhibits are dull and terrible in quality. There wasn’t a single exhibit where I thought that an average person couldn’t replicate this.
Don’t get me started on the “Utopia” exhibit....no disrespect to the working group, but the exhibit is basically what you’d expect to result from a group of people getting high on something. - THIS ISN’T ART!
The best part of the gallery was the large glass windows overlooking the park with sofas for viewing - looking outside (which says it all).
A 20 minute round trip and even that was too long.
Unfortunately most of the art exhibits on offer here are frankly dull and at best mediocre and totally forgettable, most people seem to rave about the cafe which says it all !! ....go to Liverpool (Walker, Tate etc) for some brilliant art and exhibitions... jump on the train @victoria station it only takes 30mins, well worth the effort !
Such an amazing building and the cafe is glorious but the gallery itself is a massive disappointment. I don't know who the curator is but I think they need a new one, so much potential but far from its best.
