Reviews from visitors:
PULSE Art Fair is a must see during Miami Art Week, and tends to be one of my favorites each year. Even on less successful years, PULSE consistently brings you something fresh. I would consider PULSE to be a more "friendly" fair to the less art world established collectors that are still interested in serious work. With a price point to match, it is a great way to start a collection with legitimate art work and not get inundated with trendy objects (like certain other fairs). While it being further North from the majority of fairs (and it's tricky parking situation) can caution some, I can say that it has always been worth it - with at least 7 consecutive years of making it a part of my Art Basel schedule.
Smaller show then many of the other Art Basel venues. Reasonable entrance fees. Most Works are quite creative & appropriately priced ... except for this: Wire rimmed M16 or equivalent rifles in peace colors ... super idea. Very creative, but perhaps $500 to create, but on sale for $6,000.
We had VIP tickets for the Brunch Preview. While this art exhibit appealed to art critics and amateurs alike it was other aspects that made the experience less than stellar. It's the details that collectively enhance the experience. Sadly it was quite lacking. First the location. This location is not suited for large events given the limitation of land streets and bridges to access. Traffic was backed up to the bridge. No parking available. Beach parking lot filled up fast. No other parking nearby. One must arrive by Uber. Second there were no gift bags left for the VIP preview. Next the "brunch" consisted of breads croissants and muffins. No eggs, protein, fruit bowls. However there were whole oranges and apples. So one had to peel their orange. The eating area was so narrow that sardine pack is understatement. But the cocktails were delicious. They also offered a nonalcoholic drink with CBD powder. Very tasty. But the bartenders moved so slowly as if there only 10 guests when there was over a 100 trying to sit and eat in dining section outdoors
All in all not the VIP treatment that one expects. Not worth the $100+. The art show was varied and appealing but very small. So much effort to get there it took less time to admire the fair.
Art Miami in downtown Miami is still the most popular and more easily accessible show.
I love art
Not a 5 stars, not yet.
