1 LineUP Urban Art ( Association )

This association offers a place to meet and share with Street Art artists. To visit certain benchmark districts in Montpellier. This is the opportunity to meet Oze who explains the hours of designing a stencil to make these street works. We sometimes miss small artistic masterpieces, without taking the time to look. Often ephemeral (covered with posters, paint, etc.), they often deserve to linger for a few minutes.

On recommendation, we went for a ride on a Saturday afternoon. Meeting with the artists, they were all very open to discuss what they were doing. There is something for everyone. Really cool!

Lovely place. Is not too big, but not too small either. Mostly classic paintings and sculptures, which I prefer, but also some modern galleries. Strong AC too, great for summer

We love Galerie de l’Ancien Courrier !
Tucked away in a beautiful side street (the lovely historic street alone is worth a visit), this gallery is remarkably well curated with fine art. You will find gorgeous paintings in a variety of expressions (oils on canvas, ink on paper, watercolors, etc.) — something for everyone.
And if you fall in love with a painting, as we did both times that we visited in a span of 2 years, you will find it surprisingly easy to get your painting home, regardless of how far from France you live. The gallery owner/manager Claire is quite savvy in both packaging small paintings to carry onto a plane, and also in shipping larger paintings abroad. She views them as her children and will do what is needed to get them safely to your home.
Here is a description of both of our experiences (one was 2 years ago; the other, last month).
We bought a large-format painting (too big to carry on a plane) a few weeks ago. Owner/manager Claire had it carefully wrapped and packaged and then shipped it to California USA. It arrived in pristine condition after a quick and easy pickup that I did myself at SFO airport cargo - no need to hire a broker. For me, picking it up just required a trip to United Airlines cargo office and then US customs, right around the corner. Easy! This process only required about 15 minutes.
We bought a painting a couple years ago that was small enough to carry onto a plane. This painting she wrapped, wrapped again, and wrapped yet again and then packed in a very protective bag that was easy to carry. Both onto the plane and throughout the rest of our two-week trip! It also arrived in perfect condition despite spend a couple weeks on a trip with us in cars and hotels.
This gallery provides an amazing opportunity to take home beautiful artwork from sophisticated and up-and-coming fine artists throughout Western Europe (France, Spain, The Netherlands, etc.) and a reminder of your trip to a lovely part of the world.
Highly recommended!!!
