The street art around St Laurent Blvd is quite beautiful. We parked our car along the street for 2 hours and strolled around the streets admiring all the amazing art we could see. The locals were especially helpful when we sought exact locations of particular Murals. Must do on your visit to Montreal

Beautiful graffiti. This one is a classic. Been up here for years. But it's slowly degrading. So come see it before they paint over it.

Inside a historical building that once housed a business that made boilers for ships, you have the run of 3 floors of art works mixed in with many cosy, homey rooms. It's fairly easy for newcomers to get lost on the way upstairs or returning downstairs. There is a bar in the style of old time salon, a bit pricey, but so comfortable feeling, like drinking in an antique and historical living room. They also offer art classes. A rare find in an obscure location, which is rapidly becoming the nouveau condo area close to downtown yet even closer to the Lachine Canal. Worth the trip off the beaten path.

A'SHOP did a mural on our building in Calgary. They did a fantastic job. Fluke and his team were really great to work with and made the whole process very easy. Highly recommend A'SHOP

Art from a different point of view and perspective! Large even too large premises. Take your time no one is rushing you. A nice extra addition on saint denis artistic side. The welcoming door is small and an inviting sign or tablet will help. Vernissage should be announced so visits could be more frequent! Coffee on the house. Voila!

I love coming to Crescent Street for so many reasons but one thing I truly love is seeing the Leonard Cohen Mural. Depending on the day or evening you can capture a unique shot each and every time. I highly recommend getting close to it and seeing the creativity and detail first hand.
Was there yesterday and I’m counting the days until I return. This is also walking distance from the Social Media 55 Montreal Downtown Office

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is an excellent place to experience art and have a leisure afternoon at (The first Sunday of every month is free for all museum goers). The entrance hall is stunning and the indoor sculpture garden (with a glass ceiling) is an excellent place to read or spend an afternoon with a friend. The museum cafe and shop are also worth a visit and rival any quintessential museum cafe or shop.
There are a number of excellent permanent exhibits on Canadian and Indigenous art, especially in the auxiliary pavilions. The museum also holds an excellent rotation of temporary art exhibits that showcased in major museums across the world.
*Covid only: The ticketing process is online and visiting the museum was a very fluid experience even with restrictions. You need to register online to visit and there are only a few sections of the museum open at a particular time.*

The murals along the road of St Laurent Boulevard are quite grand as they generally expand entire building walls.
The work and detail put into the murals make it worth visiting and the murals are scattered along St Laurent Boulevard so it's good to take a walk along the road and spot the different murals.
There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants around to stop off at and grab a bite or a coffee.

Amazing experience with the gallery owner,Lyne, and the wonderful artist Lyly Gagnon. We discovered Lyly’s stunning art during a trip to Quebec City and contacted Blanche Gallery to arrange for her to commission a painting for our new house. The entire process was very smooth, and both Lyne and Lyly were a pleasure to deal with. We are thrilled with our new Gagnon horse painting and would love to welcome more art from this gallery and artist into our home in the future.

Such a lovely place! My Mom and I, went in here and I loved the paintings. There were a couple, I absolutely loved. My favourite was by Najib Chakchem "A shadow fell over my way." Absolutely beautiful. I hope to be back to purchase them when I can. The gentlemen in the gallery was so knowledgeable, welcoming and kind. He showed us other art work of the artist (Najib Chakchem) I loved. I will be back one day...hopefully soon.
I do my best to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in September 2024. If you know of a street art that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
