Reviews from visitors:
Amazing museum. Indeed, it shows how much art is valuable for Russian people. Although the staff know a little bit English they tried their best to help. GREAT EXPERIENCE
Painting exposition in the main building is quite boring. There are no any special art examples. Nice Egypt and Mesopotamia halls. Beautiful sculpture hall. Sometimes there can be good temporary exhibitions, like Bill Viola in the first half of 2021.
Honestly, one of the best museums in Moscow.
I liked it much more than Tretyakov gallery.
Here represented a lot of original works of the renaissance period.
Extremely overpriced. Worth seeing after you visited more important museums of Moscow - Tretyakov Gallery, Darwin Museum, Polytechnic Museum etc.
This is excellent, classic fine arts museum with excellent collections. This is no huge like the State Hermitage in Saint Petersburg but it is better to plan at least three hours for your visit. You are going to see many artifacts from the times of ancient Egypt, Assyria and Greece. West European sculptures and paintings of XV - XVII centuries. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod. Highly recommended for yours visit.
