Reviews from visitors:
A small but lovely Chapel in the middle of the road - it's in the middle of former Russia also. Religion architecture and SU style building, I love here and got impressed.
The chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is located right on the park that runs in the middle of Red Avenue.
Construction of the chapel began on July 20, 1914. The project was made free of charge by the well-known local architect A.D. Kryachkov. On December 6 (19), 1914 (on St. Nicholas Winter), the solemn consecration of the chapel took place.
On January 29, 1930, the chapel was demolished.
The chapel was re-erected in 1993 for the 100th anniversary of Novosibirsk. The restored chapel is located in a slightly different place, further from the intersection where it was originally located.
The architectural design of the chapel was completed by P.A. Chernobrovtsev, and the chapel was painted by his father, the monumental artist A.S. Chernobrovtsev.
Hello! Tell me please, from your memories, what time does the service begin?
A good symbol of Novosibirsk.
The construction of the chapel began on July 20, 1914 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the laying of the railway bridge across the Ob. On December 6 (19), 1914, a solemn consecration of the chapel took place. In Soviet times, the chapel was closed. Demolition of the building began on January 29, 1930. At the site of the chapel for a short time there was a Komsomolets statue, and then a monument to I. V. Stalin, which was removed in the 1950s. The chapel was again erected in 1993 to mark the 100th anniversary of Novosibirsk. The restored chapel is located in a slightly different place, further from the intersection where it was originally located.
