We were the only ones there. My son really loved the hands on siren, and fire box. The beautiful trucks and equipment were very engaging.
If you aren't already a fan of fire trucks and history, this place will certainly ignite your passion.
Many of the exhibits focus on the history of the orlando fire department. You can imagine how hosed those living in Orlando would've been before.
This was a great afternoon adventure with my 2 year old grandson. Jesse was a sweet patient tourguide. We thoroughly enjoyed.
Our family stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Admission is free to the museum, which is amazing! When we visited, there were two retired fire chiefs on duty volunteering to show us around. Our kids were given their own fire hats to wear and keep, and they were treated so nicely throughout the tour! There is a 1920s working fire truck on display, and the kids were encouraged to climb up on it so that we could take their picture, and they were allowed to ring the bell and pretend like they were driving. The volunteers were very knowledgeable due to their years of service, and were able to tell us a lot about the museum and the history of fire fighting. The building itself dates from the 1800s and was relocated to its current location from downtown by cutting it in half and moving it! There's also a fire alarm that the kids could crank to create the sound. Great museum, well worth a visit!
One of the coolest museums I've ever been to Super Duper clean very friendly very nice the gentleman that I was speaking to knew everything there was to know about fire trucks and fire apparatus extremely extremely neat place to go visit go check it out
