I visited Snap last week to see the Van Gogh effect exhibition. I just loved it. I love photography but I also love Van Gogh so this was a bonus for me. I got to see beautiful and interesting photographs from Vincent's life. The places he had been. This exhibit also focused on the asylum where Vincent spend some time because of his mental illness. The photographs showed current patients and how they are trying to recover form their illness by drawing and painting by taking inspiration from Van Gogh. This exhibition is just outstanding. I loved the atmosphere. My overall viewing experience was very pleasant.
Both Snap! Space and their 2nd brick & mortar, Snap! Downtown are beautiful galleries that make me proud to be an Orlandoan. This non-profit manages to exist as an entity separate from any tangible space with its city-wide interactive art, workshops and volunteer initiatives that reach people who may not traditionally frequent gallery spaces. The gallery owners exude kindness and passion and it shows in every event they hold and project they undertake. If you’re thinking of visiting, 10/10 would highly recommend!
Great exhibits despite the small space. Very well curated and rotating artists. Parking can be confusing if you're not familiar with the area. Park by the coffee shop next door.open flowing space and easy to drop in! They have a small bar for entertaining groups
Snap! Orlando is one of the organizations that transformed the Orlando arts scene into what it is today. The international artists and public art installations they've brought here is why people all over the world are finally talking about art in Orlando.
