If Orlando is “The City Beautiful,” then Lake Eola Park is its residents' hub of leisure. This park around a sinkhole-lake in the center of Downtown Orlando is a picturesque city park, filled with gardens, art, a walking/jogging trail, and more! We love strolling along the lake for some quick escapism. Along the lake are sculptures and other art fixtures that enhance the experience and add some great cultural infusion into the Downtown Orlando area. The lake offers swan boats as well. If you visit at night, the fountain in the middle of the lake offers great water shows with the music being played around the entirety of the walking path. This park is also a great place to look out for farmers markets and other larger events throughout the year. We love walking around this lake and all of the offerings that are nearby.

A definite must see for any museum enthusiast. It is a small museum packed with a trove of information. My family and I learned so much during our visit. The museum curator was very knowledgeable and friendly. Their presentation reflected their love of African American history, and made the visit even more enjoyable. The museum delves into chapters of African American history that are often systematically overlooked in many American history classes. Not to mention, the museum’s admission fee was only $5 at the time of our visit. It is an informative and affordable must see.

I visited Snap last week to see the Van Gogh effect exhibition. I just loved it. I love photography but I also love Van Gogh so this was a bonus for me. I got to see beautiful and interesting photographs from Vincent's life. The places he had been. This exhibit also focused on the asylum where Vincent spend some time because of his mental illness. The photographs showed current patients and how they are trying to recover form their illness by drawing and painting by taking inspiration from Van Gogh. This exhibition is just outstanding. I loved the atmosphere. My overall viewing experience was very pleasant.
