Reviews from visitors:
The Palace is located in a strategic position, a short distance from the Cathedral and the Norman Palace, almost protected by the houses of the surrounding neighborhood, currently much less noble than the ancient building which in this way, in my opinion, stands out even more. Entering it was an extraordinary discovery for me, welcomed and accompanied as we were by the two young descendants of the family that still lives in the building in which, among other things, some very interesting holiday apartments have been created. Going up to the first floor and immersing yourself in the history of the family that boasts such noble and prestigious ancestry as those of Frederick II of Swabia was an experience that I highly recommend (the ticket costs 10 euros, the visit lasts an hour). All the rooms and environments visited are like a museum, but alive, a collection of family, historical and artistic testimonies; however the strong point, for me, was the ancient tower on the top floor, an Arab-Norman tower of the twelfth century, placed, like the whole building that follows its trend, on a Punic wall of the city, that is dating back to the origins of its foundation. It is the Torre Busuemi or Torre di Scrigno, surprising
Visit to the Royal Palace. Exaggerated ticket for a family. Insufficient discounts. Very little organization in the management of lines booked online and tickets purchased at the ticket office. We were treated very badly by the staff.
Nothing to say about the monumental complex and the Palatine chapel which are wonderful, some notes must be made to pay for the royal gardens for the visit of which part of the entrance fee is paid: the view of the paths and flower beds immediately gives the impression , at least of neglect if not of abandonment. In fact, they appear full of dry leaves, recent but above all old enough to form layers, the flower beds full of weeds and brambles, many of the stakes, indicators of the plant species, felled. The Bar deserves a separate mention, the service of which appears somewhat incomplete, they serve you hot coffee at the table where it arrives lukewarm and without sugar sachets. The waiter justifies himself by saying that he forgot them and that he would come back to bring them (actually I went to pick them up personally). Conclusions undrinkable coffee. And you are paid for the SERVICE!
Inside the main hall there are wonderful frescoes!
Interesting beautiful pictures of our beloved Santuzza
