Reviews from visitors:
The Phoenix art museum was great, for the most part. Although it does seem big at first, getting through the museum (including extra exhibits) was quite quick. Thankfully we went on a Wednesday and gave some money for donation but in retrospect I would not have paid full price. That being said, it had many interesting pieces.
This museum architecture is amazing. The exhibits are average. Some installation art is pretty outstanding. It's hard to compare art museums but this one is not in the top 20 in the country IMO only for what ever that is worth.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Phoenix Art Museum today. We took advantage of the "Pay What You Want" special that the Museum has every Wednesday from 3p to 7p. The Phoenix Art
Museum is the largest art museum in the Southwestern United States. There are exhibits galore on 3 different levels. We spent 3 hours at the Museum, and we were able to see everything. The Museum is well worth the visit, offering a wide variety of art including Contemporary Art, European Art, Asian Art, and my personal favorite, Thorne Miniature Art. Non Flash photography is allowed, and I took quite a few. A visit to this Museum will not disappoint!
Beautiful museum with a very nice collection. If you ever feel like pottering fleeting human condition as captured through various forms of art over the centuries make sure to visit. When you are here, visit the room of fireflies exhibit. It's mind-blowing. Find out for yourself
A fantastic and massive art museum on three floors that is great to visit. It's been like almost 20 years since I visited this Phoenix Museum. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon when it was a Donate as you wish day. My friends' kids had a great time exploring the massive art collection from the antiquities to the modern. When most of the art museums in the US are closed down because of Covid , this museum was a welcome relief to many art lovers. To the museum management, I say "Keep up the good work ". And tourists please come and visit this wonderful museum. Don't forget to donate whatever you can afford.
