Reviews from visitors:
I moved to Mexico to be in a more positive environment while the world was in the pandemic. As I have never been to Playa Del Carmen before, I didn’t want to rent a apartment long term without knowing which area to rent.
I decided to stay at Selina while I go the feel of each area. From the moment I walked through the door of Selina, I was greeted with a warm smile and great efficiency (uncommon in Mexico) from the reception staff. Their great communication and helpfulness carried on through out my week long stay here.
The food at Selina is very very good (Selina breakfast and potato wedges are my favourite) they have a really good menu even for myself who is a vegetarian.
The rooms were what I expected from a hostel and even though some events went on till late. Again I expected this from a hostel where most guests are younger than myself.
There are many activities through out the week which I took full advantage of. Scuba diving lessons was one of my favourites and the salsa lessons are really fun.
I hope you have just as amazing stay here just I did.
Kind regards

My stay at Selina was nothing but outstanding. I had a great time during my stay. I was in 4 bedroom community and I had only 1 roommate at that time. The front desk was nothing but kind and helped me sort out the issue with my first room. The host did an outstanding job in making sure everyone had a good time, especially during activities. The location is perfect because you're close to the beach and pretty much everything else. The hostel community gives you the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I made a lot of amazing friends and stories to tell just from this hostel. I highly recommend it. The amenities are also great by the way. This hostel has a coworking space, a kitchen, and a pool.
Good place, the environment here is amazing. Definitely worth checking it out! Also its personnel is amazing, Laura at the frost desk was the sweetest thing ever
The Berlin-style from 6pm onwards for the last two days has been obnoxiously LOUD. It actually makes the hostel really antisocial because it's impossible to speak to anyone!
Note to management. Why do you think despite the hostel being full, there is almost no one in the courtyard?? Don't you want to make money from people buying drinks at the bar? I am sure if you asked your guests, 99% would say the music was too loud.
Other than that, the hostel is quite nice and good looking. Problem with damp in some rooms.
Probably the worst hostel I have ever seen
Customer service at its lowest, management barely shows any interest in their guests' experience. Misleading marketing makes most people think coworking is included in the rent which is NOT true. Besides, dorms are really dirty, most things are broken/work poorly, they don't provide towels, etc etc. Basically they take every single chance to disappoint you. It would be worth for 30% of the price maybe.
