Reviews from visitors:
We really enjoyed this museum!
Great museum with excellent displays. Very interesting and informative. I recommend it!
An excellent museum focussing on a subject about which we had previously known nothing. Follow the history of the old sardine fishing and canning I dustry of Portimao. I would very strongly suggest one watches the old 1940s era film before walking around the exhibits as it really helps with context. Thoroughly recommend this museum for a family (or adult) hour well-spent.
Dinky museum dedicated to the history of the area from pre-Roman times to the hayday of the canning industry.
The film is particularly interesting; it's a bit like a slightly camp version of How It's Made.
The downstairs bit with the artificial reef is very cool (a bit claustrophobic but cool nonetheless).
Free on Sunday mornings is helpful too.
Really cool exhibition! Nice recreation of the sardines!
