one of the many places in Riga where to go to enjoy contemporary theater shows, performances etc and also one of the most popular places among artsy youngsters in Riga. definitely not the classical and usual theater experience, but very enjoyable indeed.
The special theatre - stylish and focused on the enjoyment of art.
Absolutely amazing show. I learnt so much about Latvian culture and history.
If you want something more than simply the “touristy” experience of Latvia I would recommend attending Tanas Dzimsanas Diena and enjoying the interactive cultural experience. There was so much emotion during this show; laughter, tears, reverence, nostalgia. I feel that it did justice to the complex history of Latvia.
Thanks to a young lady called Gunita, who provided me with an English guide to the play so that I could enjoy the show even with limited Latvian.
