This is most romantic and time stand still place EVER.... EVERYRHINV IN THIS PLACE IS JUST BREATHTAKING. MY ABSOLUTLEY FAVORITE PLACE TO GO FOR SWEETTOOTH.CAKES ARE INCREDIBLE.. I NEED A BETTER WORD TO DESCRIBE AMAZING IS NOT DOING a justice..
A very cozy cafe, if you're willing to pay for an expensive coffee, the setting is all you could ever want. Cozy and quiet, surrounded by old books and magazines, nice view outside... it has this old library feel to it, paired with an aristocratic cafe feel. Definitely worth the visit, and albeit the coffee itself is rather average, it's not what you're paying for - it's the experience!
Must go for tourists. Very cosy, elegant and chic... ! Great for an intimate tea with friends or a special occasion. !
Take the three dollar signs seriously!! I did not, and that was a mistake. They don't post prices on anything (contrary to standard practice in Riga), and now I know why. Yes, it's like drinking coffee in someone's lovely living room. And the staff was extremely attentive and polite (although overly formal and too butler-like for my taste; I prefer a smile and warmth, actually).
The place is cool, has a home atmosphere, but the waiter in a suite need to develop his people's skills more.
He tries to be polite in his words and how he is talking, but his whole body languag, looks, the way he talks needs a lot of improvement.
I walked in (not white & non Latvian) and right behind me was a group of 4 people who also walked in, they spoke to him in Russian and he ignored me and continued to seat them immediately and gave them menus and the he turned to me and just stared at me, waiting for me to initiate conversation or say what i want.
I got a bit nervous and asked for a menu and he said that whatever I will order it's going to be a while like over 10 minutes cause he has other customers and he pointed at some people who were already there and then he pointed at the group of 4 people who walked in after me and said he needs to serve them as well, so if i agree, i can go sit down and he'll come and give me the menu.
He gave me the menu and after 5 minutes he came and just stood there! Then i asked if he has tea, he said yes, he got me the tea and told me to leave it for 4 minutes then i can drink it.
