1 Museum of Decorative Arts and Design
images
Until the end of September (2020) exhibition by Skuja Braden, a female artists tandem -- ceramics, installations, video. Most provocative show in recent times in Riga. Highly recommended!
2 St. Peter's Church

images
Incredible acoustics, a building that has already outlasted us all by hundreds of years, and it's still right here, in use today in exactly the same way, where it has been since before other countries even existed! Few places declare permanence like this.
3 Riga Free Tour

images
It was a great, interesting & fun tour with a guide Arturas. The guide was funny and competent with brilliant knowledge of English. Would recommend the tour and the guide 100%!
4 Sherlock Art Hotel

images
Changed to 5* (I'm not used to give 5* but thinking better the hotel deserves them). Wonderful atmosphere. Every tiny details were very nice. Very big room. Perfect clean. I would appreciate a place to put our big luggages but the room was so big that also on the floor they don't bother you. (Dancing Room).
6 Riga Porcelain Museum

images
A tiny museum, located in a basement (no lift} , consisting of merely 3 rooms, featuring porcelain items from the late 1800's up to to day. There are collector, decorative, special occasion, limited edition and everyday pieces showcased in clean vitrines. Laminated catalogues, describing each object, are readily available for those who wish to know the designer/manufacturer, date produced, etc. Overall, a suitable option for a rainy or cold day in Riga.
7 St. John's Church

images
Small old lutheran church. Today used not only for religious rituals, but also for concerts. Authentic atmosphere. Church is in good condition.
8 House of the Black Heads

images
Beautiful, friendly, inviting place - my imagination created lots of short movies in my head about the history of this building thanks so many details seen there. Everything is very clean and neatly decorated. Staff is very nice and friendly. Entrance price is ok too.
9 Street Fries Kitchen

images
Okay, i am a local tried almost every restaurant, dinner, etc.
This cozy place got me hooked, definatelly coming back here, for tasty food, the atmosphere, and pleasent staff.
Loved it. Recommend it.
10 Rīgas vēstures un kuģniecības muzejs

images
Absolutely worth visiting. The museum brings you from period to period and has lots of peculiar artifacts on display - including chopped hands of burglars and thieves in medieval Rīga. Only downside is maybe the lack of more descriptive, contextual tags. It would definitely benefit from audio guides in a variety of languages, and perhaps some more interactivity.
12 Street Burgers (Old Town)

images
Visited the place in old town 2 times. The burgers were delicious and great during the first visit, but unfortunately during second visit, we got almost half rear meat, even if we ordered them well-done...otherwise, nice staff and great burgers
14 Three Brothers

images
Truly stunning! Extremely old buildings in a cute old town. Definitely worth the detour if you are in Riga!
15 Arsenāls

images
Very good place to spend your free time. Almost always interesting exibitions.Huge space. Available to purchace some unique souvenirs.
16 Elkor Gift Shop, gift and souvenirs

images
Your one stop shop for most gifts in Riga. My favorite part is the gallery downstairs. The art is fantastic and is decently priced making it a must see. When buying a piece it was wrapped protectively, though I would have appreciated a bag or box to walk around with especially since it was waiting. Had a good selecting of crafts and glassware, and trinkets that make this a must stop in Riga.
17 National History Museum of Latvia

images
I really enjoyed this museum. It was understated but did a great job chronicling Latvia’s birth and evolution. The temp exhibit on Latvia’s century was a great way to learn about its emergence as a state.
18 Riga Central Market

images
I look around the market, and i think price of everything and stuff cheaper than the supermarket store.
20 Latvian National Museum of Art

images
Even for not huge art lovers/connoisseurs very worth to visit .
Could spend 4h or 1h depending on your time/mood/interest. The ticket is very affordable for glance into fine paintings and the building itself (inside&out).
