8 Bastion St. Philip

images
The bastion of Saint-Philippe dates back to 1714, the time of the 2nd expansion of the city. It was named in honor of Philippe II d'Orléans, Regent of France. It bordered a district of rich shipowners' houses in the 18th century. On the corner of the bastion, in front of the Môle des Noires, there is a beautiful watchtower crowned by a fleur-de-lis.
From here there are beautiful views of the city of Aleth and the Bas Sablons.
