1 Clarion Alley Street Art

Enjoyed local Mural artists who's art reflected contemporary topics. Felt inspired and spent around 60 minutes walking down the spacious alley . Located conveniently near Bart and Muni and is well Lit and very public. Felt completely safe and child friendly .
2 Haight Street Art Center

This was my first time visiting the gallery, we checked out the Ralph Steadman retrospective. I was happily surprised at the extent of the show and the gallery space. All the staff were very welcoming and kind. It was worth the drive (and traffic) to experience this great gallery. Definitely looking forward to other shows.

I planned a work team building event here because we wanted to do an activity that was inclusive and unique. This place and the people did not disappoint! I interacted with Daniel and Kristen along the way, who helped with the booking, payment, and contract process. They were very professional and kind to me, who has never done an activity like this before. The actual street art activity was so much fun. I was a little intimidated before coming in, but the guide (sorry, I can't remember his specific name) helped us throughout the whole process. My team loved it! I'm really happy we decided to do this.
5 Minnesota Street Project

Gorgeous open space with thought provoking art installations. There's is and attached cocktail bar.
6 Balmy Alley

images
It's a little smaller than you'd expect but the murals are beautiful nonetheless.
You can also find really amazing murals on the streets nearby
8 Graffiti MUSEUM

images
Museum here is used as a term of art (get it, term of art?). Anyway...
This is really the Clarion Alley Street Art collection which focuses on large pieces of street art which rotate regularly depicting & expressing topical, local issues onto the otherwise exposed walls.
If you are a fan of street art, it is certainly worth the detour to marvel, whether at some of the expressive portraits or colourful murals.
It’s free. You we welcome to bring cameras; again this is outdoor, public and available for everyone. You may risk walking passed it as there are very few signs nudging you in the right direction.
You should allow at least 20-30 minutes. If you do take photos, you may want to come around noon to allow for the best sunlight with light shadows cutting across your shots.
9 First Amendment Inc

Fantastic place to go with a team or group of friends. Ethan and crew are amazing with their workshops. Just don't be a Facebook Turd and make a mural that says 'Executive Realness'.
10 Osage Alley Artwork

images
I much prefer Osage alley to Clarion. Osage has more rotating street art rather than the stationary murals of Clarion or Balmy. I like that the alley doesn't always smell like pee.
11 Precita Eyes Muralists

images
I would highly recommend this tour. We attended on a Sunday afternoon and our tour guide was Patricia. She has a genuine love for the Mission area and a real care for the community she lives in, this community is facing some real pressures. But she showed how art can create change and strengthen community and her knowledge of the murals was amazing.
15 Hang Art

Great spot highlighting the work of local artists. The folks that run this place are friendly and approachable.

18 Art Attack SF

images
This place has a ton of really high quality but approachable art. And James is ready with good stories about the art and artists. There's some really reasonable holiday pricing at the moment too. Definitely going back for a raid once I get this SF housing situation figured out.
19 Incline Gallery

images
Hidden down a long bright alley way is a twisting inclined path. Strewn with art and things, this gallery is small and comfy. An intimate look at a few pieces of changing art.
20 Creativity Explored

Smitten with the beautiful piece of artwork I picked up here, and I was able to meet the artist, JD, who was so sweet. The shop had so many different styles of art, that if you're looking for a gift for someone you'll undoubtedly be able to find a piece that suits them.
I do my best to keep this list very up to date. It was last edited in March 2025. If you know of a street art that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
