Amazing store for art supplies! Will feed all of your artsy cravings :) I got so blown away with all the stuff they got that I was the last customer leaving before they closed! Really grateful for all the help and thank you for taking time to help me out with setting up the rewards account as well! Will be recommending this store and coming back myself! :)
Very well stocked art store. I went in for block printing materials and there was a fantastic selection of lino sizes, print inks and tools. Perfect for someone just breaking into a new medium. I checked out the rest of the store and found a decent variety of watercolor paints paper and brushes. There is a much better selection of supplies on their website, but what they have in-store is still impressive. The only downside is parking and being deep in San Francisco. I'm not a fan if the city to begin with, and if they had a store closer to me, outside of San Francisco, I'd give them 5 stars.
I was waiting on a line for ten minutes to purchase my items. Two men were in front of me. A young lady joined them cutting ahead of me. After the two men completed their purchase she began to check out her purchase. I asked her to go to the back of the line and wait but she refused, claiming to be "with" the men. The men came back and confirmed she was with them. I told them and the cashier that didn't make it right for her to cut ahead of me and the two people waiting behind me. She refused to go to the back of the line and the manager showed up and started opening other registers. I told him I was next and the people behind. He said he would not "punish" the young woman who cut the line by making her go to the back of the line. I left discarded my products and left the store. I won't shop at Blick again.
The most helpful Matthew was a treasure! He solved all my problems with care and charm. I don’t usually write review unless exceptional and he’s set a new bar.
This location is great. Tim took the time to help explain the differences between a few different types of paint and the best brush to use. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous
