Lots of murals
It's a little smaller than you'd expect but the murals are beautiful nonetheless.

Nice murals!
Balmy Alley is an excellent representation of folk art. That deserves high praise. This is just one of the many examples of the multitude of different art installations around the SF area. Each piece tells us a different story of the tough times from political and social unrest.
The Mission District has beautiful art spurred all around, and Balmy Alley is a great place to take a quick walk through and admire the scenes painted all along the walls. There is beautiful story-telling shown in the art, and especially on a nice day where the sun casts down in the alley, there is no better place to go after a nice lunch up the street. I definitely recommend taking a look here and appreciating some of what the local art community has to say.
