Located in the bohemian Vila Madalena neighborhood, Beco do Batman (Batman's Alley,) features some of the most impressive "street art" in a city where almost every blank space acts as a canvas. Called "graffiti" by some, but here a true art form, guests exploring Rua Goncalo Afonso will find several blocks of detailed work ranging from Super Heroes to spiritual. Free, safe, and surrounded by Bistros, Coffee Shops and Concert Venues a visit should be prioritized by anyone visiting Sao Paulo.
One of the most unique streets in the world, this avenue is decorated with thousands of murals (check out my video from yesterday for a walk through of the entire street). It all started with one artist painting a Batman symbol. To this day they are many comic inspired murals. The murals change often (about once a year) so each time you come you'll see a different view. Around the street you'll find more murals, trendy restaurants and shops. #vero #travel #art
