fun to walk through in the winter. the big area wasn't open so only the greenhouse, but for sure worth going to if you're a fan of plants. the full experience will surely be better in non-winter months
A beautiful experience among trees, flowers, fountains and peaceful silence.
Here you can find a beautiful museum of Japanese animal species too, including the Ezo Okami (Canis Lupos Hattai Kishida), the extinct endemic Japanese wolf.
If you are looking for nature, history, silence and meditation, this is the right place!!!

It has not been managed well. I think it is enough for free.
It looks like the amount of stars this place receives is dependent on the time of visit, and understandably so. I visited this garden during the last week of October and the trees were just about to shed their leaves for fall. The colors were vibrant, the property was sprawling, the area was diverse with many different kinds of vegetation including water features, and the trees were enormous. It felt as though we were walking through a forest (in the middle of the city at that). I could imagine though, that if all of the trees were bare, there wouldn't be as much to gawk at. I'm curious to see what this place looks like during the spring or summer when certain plants and flowers are in full bloom.
A nice side note about this place is that the facilities are clean. I expected a typical park bathroom. But, the bathrooms were clean and provided soap.
