I went to this museum over the weekend and it was empty. It was really strange. I walked in and there was music playing and a small sign on the reception desk that the attendant had taken a break and to call the listed number. I called and unfortunately the person on the other line could only speak Korean.
I heard some people talking from somewhere else in the building so I walked each floor all the way to the 5th and found a local calligraphy group and they told me the museum part of the building has closed. I peaked in the exhibition rooms to be sure and they were gutted.
There are no signs to indicate the museum's closing so I hope my post can save someone an afternoon of confusion.
Not a bad place to spend some time if you like modern art.
A year later and the museum is still completely empty, except there was a conference taking place on the fifth floor
