What an amazing discovery!
The quality of the art featured by the gallery is incredible. I would have never thought I could be given the opportunity to acquire valuable Cambodian contemporary artists artwork and Batia Sarem did it!
The team on site is really welcoming and so knowledgeable! It was really good to be advised by real art professional!
We found Colours of Cambodia while walking down the street and I’m so glad we did! Such a beautiful initiative and people. We got to meet Monicoth and Johnnie (two of the kids) and loved talking to them, such smart and caring kids!
We ended up buying a few postcards and bookmarks, hopefully we can come back for more :)
If you want to support this project you can do so by buying some of the art (the money goes towards the young artist —usually kids that had to stop going to school in order to provide for their families), or you can donate art supplies!
Done both the wood carving and cement bag making. A really enjoyable experience even for a novice. The final products we made are amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone in the siem reap area.
Mr. Kasahara, an art teacher at a high school in Tokyo, retired and presided over a painting class at Siem Reap. I teach paintings to local children who can't afford art supplies. Please visit if you have time!
If you want to party with other travelers, this is the place to do it. The parties start early and go all night. If you're not into partying, there's also lots of souvenir stores with traditional items to buy, as well as traditional clothing! Worth stopping by even for a little bit.
