Too many beautiful handmade pieces in the store! Spent some time today and bought a couple of items. Definitely coming back again for the rings and the watches
Nice and exotic sterling accessories store, particularly native american indian style. The silver are hand made. I've known this store for almost 10 years. I used to visit the store, everytime i go to singapore
✨In the heart of Clarke Quay, inside Central Mall, you will find one of the most unique jewelry stores in Singapore. As a collector I was astounded when I discovered the Kunst gallery and took the time to explore the rare vintage pieces inside. The shop is a visual treat even if you are not a jewelry fanatic, with many amazing vintage Americana artifacts to feast your eyes upon, such as the figurines of the Golden Jazz Age, midcentury Disney characters, vintage posters and vibrant modern art pieces.
✨In today's world filled with transient fast fashion and plastic jewelry, Kunst's magnificent collection is the antidote for the banal. Vintage has made a huge come back in the last few years because of the desire for quality and heritage. At Kunst's gallery the handmade jewelry techniques remind of a craft that is slowly being lost; and the use of semi-precious materials is a bittersweet reminder of the depletion of natural resources, such as coral and turquoise.
✨A major part of the collection comprises jewelry of the Southwestern Native American Navajo tribe. Their jewelry is made by using solid silver (925) and semi-precious stones, such as turquoise, coral and lapis lazuli. The artisans have embraced the natural shapes of the stones and arranged them in nature-derived motifs. Another Navajo jewelry-making technique involves cutting the stones and inlaying them as a mosaic in elegant geometric Art Deco inspired patterns. There is also molding of the stones into beads and playing with proportion and color. To the Navajo tribe, turquoise is believed to have spiritual and healing properties and is believed to bring happiness, luck, and health.
✨I spent quite some time talking to Richard, the owner of Kunst Gallery. He spoke with passion and pride about the collection that he and his wife have been curating for decades. They first fell in love with the Navajo culture while traveling through the American Southwest. Other finds from their travels include equally stunning pieces from Germany and Bali.
✨As for price point, there is something for everyone: from 50% off sale items at around $30, to gorgeous antique bracelets at around $1000 and everything in between.
✨If you love wearable art, a stop by Kunst Gallery is a must.
✨Bonus fun fact: the word "Kunst" in translation from German means "Art".
Great jewelry shop!
