Back in January, we booked a trip to Ortigia for September and were planning to do some group tours to other key locations. Then the pandemic happened and we thought that we would not be able to go on any tours. Fortunately, some good friends recommended that we contact Ciauru di Sicily Tour, which we did. Lucia was so helpful in responding to our enquiry and set up a Whatsapp call to discuss what we wanted and suggest options. She put together a fantastic itinerary for us, including a walking tour of Ortigia and visits to Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Taormina and some small and delightful “Godfather” villages. All just perfect for us and with a private guide.
The itinerary was fantastic and our private guide, Angela, was just perfect. Very knowledgeable, helpful, organised, relaxed and flexible. Nothing was too much trouble and we had an amazing time – it was just like having your best friend show you round their home town!
Thank you, Angela, and thank you Ciauru di Sicily Tour, we had a very special trip to Sicily – thanks to you.

Hotel located in the historic center of Ortigia.
A stone's throw away there is a private paid parking (which Mrs. has not communicated to us) and a 10 min walk to the public paid parking lot (15 € max for 12 hours).
From the structure you can move in any direction or main point because everything is within walking distance.
The Hole is a small shop owned by the lady under the hotel, while for the hotel you have to move to the next door.
You can see the cleanliness already from the scent emanating from the corridors, while the rooms are spacious, clean and with all the comforts (shame about my climate that I always kept on due to breaking of the remote control).
Our rooms also had verandas of relevance with tables and external sink very useful for washing costumes, towels or even just for grilling or relaxing a bit.
They also take the holiday voucher.
Average-high prices but given the comfort and cleanliness (on the second day, Ms also came to freshen up) the price is average.
This is a right place to stay in Ortigia.

Host wasn’t particularly effusive upon entry but bar/sunbed staff were friendly and spoke English. Two swimming spot options with stair access and lovely view of the sea. Enjoyed our half day here.
Peak season prices:
9am-2pm or 2-7pm - €20 upstairs/€25 downstairs for two beds
All day - €30 upstairs/€35 downstairs for two beds

This place has a big space in my heart, my high school war just around the corner from it and I used to pass by here every day admiring the whole area including the fish market which is few steps away.

Hi, we visited this lovely museum today. The ancient building has been expertly renovated and now holds an exceedingly beautiful collection of religious artwork.Although not a fan of such art, this is of the best Renaissance and preRenaissance quality..so enjoyed the faces, textiles, story telling in the context of the airy and spectacular building .(.which like a jewellery box holds captivating sculptures and images..) if you like horror go thick look out for the small but terrifyingly real images of the plague pit! V welcome ing staff too..enjoy ☺

Amazing. €6 for an amazing ham, cheese and salad sandwich that will last me two meals.
I also bought my father a jar of their delicious homemade marmalade that they use in the sandwiches for €13. Not actually sure if the marmalade is regularly on sale though.
Very nice people.

Fabulous dairy and sandwich shop.
We had one of their renowned everything-sandwiches which was delicious however, the real winner is the enormous platter of fresh cheeses, meats and roasted vegetables. It was absolutely divine!
You also cannot beat the energy and fun atmosphere of the place. A must visit for breakfast or lunch.
