Reviews from visitors:
Relatively new museum built in 2006, but has succeeded to become one of the most important museums in Estonia. This is the main place to go if you want to see Estonian art. The main collection includes Estonian art from the 18th century onwards. Temporary exhibitions has both foreign and Estonian modern and contemporary art.
Love Kumu. Besides being a great exhibition center there is a black box where concerts and performances are held. Recommend visiting.
Always great visiting KUMU, and the Egyptian exhibition currently on was really interesting
Definitely a good place to spend a cold saturday afternoon. Unfortunately one of the exhibitions was closed when we visited but we had the chance to see many nice Estonian paintings and especially the temporary Egyptian exhibition was surely worth to see with mummies and ancient sculptures (some dating back to 1500 BC). The entrance fee was 7 euros for a student with ISIC card. The regular price is 10 as far as I remember.
Conveniently close to the pretty Kadriorg park and museum "quarter". Inconspicuous but grand and cosy art storage house called a museum. Mind-blowing Soviet art collection, probably the best in the former USSR. Top floor dedicated to modern art which expands on the surrealism. Gift shop offers pretty items from local artists for a reasonable price, too. Plan at least two hours to enjoy it fully. And come back, if you can.
