2 Villa Comunale Di Taormina

It’s a beautiful garden, with a great view over the sea and the city of Giardini-Naxos. There’s also a fountain with fishes and a playground for children. Sadly they also have two parrots on a cage.
3 Casa Cuseni

I don't have words for Casa Cuseni - truly one of the most wonderful houses I have ever seen let alone stayed! The rooms, gardens and museum are so steeped in history and breathtaking, and the view across Taormina from the Greta Garbo balcony is second to none. On our first night we sat on the balcony and watched lava flow from Mt Etna, a once in a lifetime experience. We loved that the house is a little above the tourist epicentre of Taormina but the perfect place to access everything. Magdalena, Maria, Francesco and - apologies! I have forgotten the lovely chefs name! - were so warm and friendly. If we had our time again we'd book more nights here. Highly recommend and then some.
5 "Vanedda" Street Art

Initiative born a couple of years ago that gave birth to a small street. Some artists have developed their art using the walls of the houses of the street parallel to the main street of the village. Admirable initiative.

7 Parcheggio Lumbi - Taormina

Convenient carpark to visit Taormina. They provide a free shuttle service into the old town as you cannot drive in the old town. The carpark was narrow but otherwise fine. We paid €10 for approx 7 hours.
9 Corvaja Palace

Not exceptional, still beautiful
You'll find this interesting palace right after Porta Messina, on your left from Corso Umberto which is the main street in Taormina Old City, at the entrance of Via Teatro Greco.
Besides the palace itself I'd recommend to stroll in this street.
There are indeed many shops of all kind along this street, mainly souvenir shops of course, and eateries.
You''ll be also very close to Bam Bar and its unforgettable Granita (try pistachio, coffee or almond).
I believe you'll pass by this place whether you want it or not.
Since it leads to the Roman Theater (which 10 euros entrance is by the way free on the 1st Sunday of every month) and since this Theater is on of the top 3 attraction in Taormina, you'll probably be there.
As I wrote, it also crosses Corso Umberto which the Top attraction so ...let your feet lead you there, stop at this Palace, then for an hour or two at the Ancient Theater and then take a Granita and Brioche break at Bam Bar, you won't regret it.

so sweet and small; don't be surprised to see a bride coming out.
12 Teatro Romano

One of the most beautiful ancient theatrical complex in Sicilia that is composed of the main amphitheatre and a smaller one - odeon - for rehearsal purposes. Well preserved but it could be the experience could be further improved with additional commentary around the venue. Nevertheless it's an amazing building, it's underground is widely open to public and it's only 5 minutes walk from the Catania city centre.

Luca and his family went out of their way to make us feel at home, they are warm and friendly people. Our room was beautiful - clean and comfortable. It was our first time to Taormina and we will be back!
20 Chiesa Madonna della Rocca

A best kept secret! You can either drive or hike to the church. We drove and easily found parking. You can also hike up to the castle next to the church and there are beautiful views along that short hike as well.
I try to keep this list very up to date. It was last edited in December 2025. You can help me make this page better, for example by letting me know of a street art that should be on the list. Click here to get in touch. Thanks!
