Reviews from visitors:
The Tokyo Trick Art Museum is a delightful venue to take entertaining and arresting trompe l'oeil photographs. It is not possible without a companion. The artworks' special effects are very skilled. I wish we had institutions like this in the US. There is also a Trick Art Museum near Mount Takao. I have not visited yet but plan to very soon. They admit parties with time between them to keep the displays from being too crowded for good photo environment.
This is pretty neat place worth visiting, especially if you like taking fun pictures. We came with 3 small children because we thought it would be something we could all enjoy together. Unfortunately the kids had a really hard time understanding how to pose correctly to make the illusions work, and without being able to see the effect as they posed they became bored. However, I imagine this place would be really cool for older kids and adults without children. It just wasn’t right for us.
We went and we thought that it was pretty small even with the secret doors. It was pretty hard to find, since it was located at the back of some stores. The artworks were really realistic but not many ti pose with. If you ever have a, chance, go to Bangkok's art in paradise, the same concept but much more paintings and much more spacious.
Great place to spend an hour to take in all the amazing art pieces. Everything is incredibly detailed and I enjoyed taking photos with the various exhibits.
The only problem was the crowds. I didn't want to hold up the crowds behind me to take photos so I skipped posing with a fair number of pieces but I enjoyed the piece with the shark, and the vampire.
You must experience it at least once if you haven't gone to a Trick Art Museum in other cities around the world. It was fun.
This was a fantastic place. I'm really happy that we found it. We had a lot of fun posing for the different photos and checking them out after. Would definitely recommend going there. Expect to spend about an hour - or more if you're serious about taking photos. The staff were awesome and helpful, taking a few family photos for us.
