Reviews from visitors:
From the first email to the end of the 3.5 days of touring, Thomas was responsive, efficient, personable and gracious. He went out of his way to understand our needs and desires as a family and extended himself in all ways possible to ensure that every moment of our time together was informative and pleasant. Thomas catered to our every need in a joyful and endearing way. The itinerary could not have been more perfect. He struck a wonderful balance between friendship and professionalism and made us feel confident and comfortable in a country whose language and culture were unfamiliar to us. He focused the time on sights, ideas and conversation that he knew mattered to us and was generous in sharing all of his many competencies. He aimed to please in every way without seeming overbearing and respected our desire to spend intimate time as a family. Thomas made our first trip to Chile exciting, adventurous, relaxing and stress-free. He provided us with a keen and objective perspective on culture, geography, society and history and injected personal experiences in insightful and humorous ways to enhance the experience. His level of attentiveness and engagement were remarkable and deeply appreciated. We would love to return to Chile and would never consider doing so without the expertise, charm and knowledge that Thomas offers to tourists of all backgrounds, ages and interests.
All communication went through Thomas. He was very prompt, honest, and reliable. I highly recommend Thomas!
Vincent was fantastic ! It was a great experience and he made it even better. Highly recommend!
(I must have made 5,000 changes to our tour - Thomas took it all with patience and understanding.)
Chile Private Tours came to me via word of mouth and to me, it was the best method to get what we wanted and needed in a tour and in a guide.
Thomas was waiting at the port when we arrived - he planned a spectacular day 1 based on our requests and requirements - and even planned the itinerary based on (for instance) that we needed to be at the Neruda House at a certain time to get in and not wait in line for hours. (The little things ARE important!)
We wanted wine. He chose two special and delightful (and different) vineyards with a fabulous lunch in the middle - to give us time to recuperate from wine-tasing one. The first vineyard (Attilio and Mochi) was a "mom and pop" operation - organic, and fabulous wine offerings; the second was more "upscale" but still boutique (RE). The contrast was wonderful.
Thomas selected a wonderful small hotel (Wood Residence Hotel), a lovely resurrected old house - like a B&B with a delicious breakfast and a convenient location.
Valparaiso was day 2. We can't walk as much as we'd have liked (physically) and Thomas more than made up for the fact that Valparaiso is all hills by taking us to places we could walk, and making sure we saw all the sights from the art to the plaza.
We lacked for nothing. Thomas is a great guy and a wonderful guide. You will not be disappointed.
I would like to add my comments re our quide, VIncent, who looked after us with cruise port pick up and tours around Valparaiso and Santiago, March 16 and 18. Vincent was most pleasant, organized and informative. His tours and tips helped us make the most of our brief time in both Santiago and Valparaiso. I particularly was impressed with his knowledge of Chilean history and current politics. The restaurant on the Valparaiso cerro was really a treat. Thus I brought 2 bottles (our limit) of Pisco back on the plane to Toronto! I will sip and think of our wonderful time in Chile.
