The gallery has a very nice atmosphere and aesthetics. Exhibitions were alright and there is a cozy reading place, coffee shop on the first floor, and toilets available. Would recommend if you're looking for some quiet space.
3 Pamyatnik Shtirlitsu

images
The monument to Stirlitz (art object) was installed in Vladivostok at the beginning of the current year 2018 at the corner of Svetlanskaya Street, 8, opposite the Versailles Hotel. The place is historic, since it is believed that it was in Vladivostok that the author of the novel "The Password Is Not Needed" by Yulian Semyonov came up with the famous character (Shtirlitsa). It happened when the writer lived in the hotel "Versailles".
The art object was created with the money of patrons. The sketch belongs to the sculptor, who in 2010 expressed the idea of installing a monument to the famous literary character, he was supported by the mayor of our city, but for that period there was no money, and in 2011 the author of the project died in an accident. The idea was realized seven years later by the close friend of the author of the project. The design is simple, vandal-resistant, is a metal panel, in which the image of the legendary Soviet spy is carved.
A great idea for a memorable sign, the image of the building from this only wins. Unambiguously, this monument will not use fake interest not only from townspeople, but also from guests, tourists coming to Vladivostok. The only, not a big minus, a place brisk, the road is near, you will not stay long at the corner, a little sorry, but the impression and emotions do not decrease from it.
Thank you to the initiative people of our wonderful city who implemented this project and at the same time decorated the city with such a beautiful Art object.

9 Stela "Gorod Voinskoy Slavy" Vladivostok

images
From the very beginning, the monument was conceived as a high-rise dominant of the central square of Vladivostok. It was inaugurated on April 29, 1961, when the square did not yet exist, and the central Leninskaya Street (now Svetlanskaya) abruptly cut off to the Golden Horn Bay. The author of the monument was the famous Moscow sculptor, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR Aleksei Ilyich Teneta. Architects - A. S. Usachev, A. F. Kozlov, Yu. A. Trautman.
The subject of heated debate was the question of which direction the figure of the standard bearer should look - towards the city or towards the Golden Horn. The appeal to the bay was logically justified - the warrior looked after the fleeing enemy. But in this case, he turned his back to the city and its main street, where demonstrations and rallies took place. The issue was resolved administratively - the first secretary of the Primorsky Regional Committee of the CPSU Vladimir Chernyshev ordered the monument to be set facing the sea.

11 Far Eastern State Academy of Arts

12 Yul Brynner Monument

images
The light three-storey building that adorns Vladivostok's downtown is the Brynner mansion, which is rightly considered one of the most beautiful architectural monuments in the Primorye capital. It was built in the early 20th century upon the project of German architect Georg Yunghendel, whose architectural talent was incarnated in several more magnificent buildings that later became Vladivostok's genuine sights.
The house was owned by the Swiss Jules Bryner - the merchant of the first guild and one of the most famous manufacturers in the Far East, who influenced modern look of the downtown. Aged 16, he ran away from home and settled in Yokohama (Japan), then, in 1880s, he moved to Vladivostok, was granted Russian citizenship and bought large shipping company. Thus, he became the architect of the Far Eastern steamship line. Local residents remember him for his contribution to Vladivostok's development and becoming one of the most important Russian ports.
The mansion is also famous as the place where Jules Bryner's son Yul was born and spent his childhood. After the revolution in the 1917, he moved to the USA with his family, added another 'n' to his last name and started brilliant acting career. The actor Yul Brynner is famous for his roles in Oscar-winning movies The King and I and The Magnificent Seven. In the year 2005, the memorial plaque in honor of the Vladivostok-born Hollywood star was opened in the Brynner house.

14 Lenin Monument

images
Installed in 1930. On the pedestal are inscribed winged Leninist words he said on November 20, 1922: "Vladivostok is far away, but, after all, this is a city of ours."
The decision to raise funds for the monument to Lenin was made by the working people of the city, who gathered at the forecourt when they received news of his death in 1924. Before the monument was erected in the city by the workers of car repair shops on May 1, 1925, a plaster bust was installed on a pedestal of five wheelsets on the territory of the depot on the First River. Then a bronze monument was brought from Leningrad to Vladivostok.
Authors: architect —Y. A. Trautman, sculptor - V.V. Kozlov, who had previously created a figure for the monument in Leningrad near Smolny, erected in 1927, and the monument in Vladivostok is exactly the same. The sculpture is cast in bronze by the workers of the factory “Red Vyborzhets” in Leningrad.
In 1964, the Komsomol of the city laid a capsule with a message-appeal under the monument: “Hello, happy people living under communism! We live in a great time, the time of development of virgin lands and flights into space. We are fighting for the passing red banner, we are participating in socialist competition. We envy you living in our communist future. ”
In 1970, during the reconstruction of the square, the monument was moved a little higher on the hillside.
In 1991, several dozen people made an attempt to dump the monument, but the communist pensioners managed to defend it.

19 Your Local Guide - Vladivostok city tours

images
I arrived in Vladivostok. Arthur met me and we went to the safari park. It was a very beautiful trip. I fell in love with a Far Eastern leopard. I had never seen him before. Arthur told interesting stories on the way to the park and when we come back. I impressed by the Russian grandmothers “babushkas” and their national cuisine pies “piroshki. Arthur is not only a guide, but also a great photographer. I still have beautiful photos. I advise everyone “your local guide” and I plan to come back and go on a long hike in the mountains:)
I do my best to keep this list very up to date. It was last edited in March 2025. If you know of a street art that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
