Such a beautiful place to visit in the heart of Volgograd. It's absolutely free to visit, but keep in mind, there are loads of steps and stairs to be taken until you reach a perfect view of the Mamayev.
In English, they call it 'The Motherland Calls' commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad. It is the tallest sculpture of a woman in the world without the podium.
The Mamayev isn't the only sculpture you'll see, there's plenty of other absolutely stunning sculptures leading the way. A must go if you're in the city.

A sanctum to memorize the sacrifice of the heroes.
By the day I was there (Aug.8, 2018). A soldier on duty felt not well. His face looked bloodless, and was sweating a lot. But he was still trying to insist. The commander saw it and fed the soldier a square sugar. Then took out a pot of vodka, let him smell. And it worked well.
Don't forget to bring a flower here.
