Reviews from visitors:
There are many of exhibits of different stones. I suppose it is valuable place to visit, if you like such things.
Three floors, most of the descriptions in English. Staff knows just Russian and most of them are not very friendly. Old school museum with no interactive features or videos of how this jewelry was made. If you are interested in this topic, it's worth it. 250 rubles if you are not student under 18 years. Entrance is little hidden.
watching Netflix please
Since it is partly connected with the jewelry theme, the choice fell on this museum.
For the price, without privileges, the entrance costs 250 rubles.
Overall not bad, but now I will explain why 4 stars
I love antique products with interesting work, but modern products are often worse by an order of magnitude, both in manufacture and grace, especially IMHO.
At the entrance there is a small shop with stone products, the price tag is not high.
You can leave with a souvenir for sure
Then we go up to the second and third floors. All rooms can be walked in 20-25 minutes. Really old and complex specimens are few, but they are.
The exposition is diluted with Soviet propaganda works, as well as modern jewelry, which it is better not to look at
I would like to highlight separately figurines made of natural stone, handmade and cut. Many objects look like "imitations" of Faberge's works.
Here I can say that modern work is well done, great.
If you are not a fan of ancient works, feel free to go and enjoy the colorful stonesноцвет
The museum is small. Not everything is clear without a guide. Nobody offered an audio guide either. The collection of stones is varied, it is amazing how many names of gems are in one area. The entrance is from Lenin's side, although the navigator led to another building.
