Reviews from visitors:
One of the most special museums in Athens and my personal favorite. Their collection is amazing and spans centuries of Islamic history and culture. Housed in a renovated neoclassical building with a Cafe on the terrace. Which has a really great view. So worth visiting!
Hidden gem in Athens for sure. Some beautiful pieces and dont miss the basement for a surprise. Also the terrace has a stunning view.
Not related to the islamic rule in Greece. Majority of items on display were from other countries. Not a great deal on display, did it in 15 mins.
Was disappointed as we were expecting some Ottoman history in Greece ie The mosque built on Acropolis or the many abandoned mosques around Athens or the Madrassa build near the tower of winds etc.
Plus point , Really good AC inside kept us nice and cool as ouside was 35C!.
Worth visiting but do not expect anything huge you may spend an hour or more , do not forget to drink a coffee at the terrace with the fabulous view of Acropolis and Pnika
Very rare items are exhibited . You can trace the arabesque art root and islamic history evolution from the map. There is a cozy restaurant on the roof with magnificent view
