Nice cafe and perfect for an excursion in occasional exhibitions. Just opposite the parliament it is a jewel of neoclassic architecture developed in Athens after the Turkish occupation.
Superb cultural spot! We enjoyed #Fotis Papathanasiou enlightenment and hospitality!
Toilet was not clean.
Staff was not friendly (If that is a "feature" to serve the ladies and gentlement of Kolonaki, it's worse).
Unacceptable given it's location, next to the Greek Parliament.
For 7 euros for an entrance fee in times of crisis, I expect at least a smile from the man in the ticket booth who put me on hold without even eye contact. I expect my order at the cafe to be just what I ordered and not something similar and my bill to be the exact amount and not one made by mistake. If I didn't notice, you'd charge me extra. So naturally I demand an apology and not an evasive excuse from the waitress. Manners are caught not taught, I guess. I expect the personnel to be quiet in the exhibition rooms and not stay behind doors and giggle and shout while I'm looking at the paintings. Simple as that. I expect the man at the entrance of the exhibition to remember me and not ask for my ticket in a highbrow style only 10 min. after I entered because he left his post and simply forgot my face. I wouldn't try to cheat by entering for free, would I? Well, on the whole the building was beautiful and the exhibition small and interesting but the personnel let me down. I guess they are underpaid like all the workers in Greece so I can't really blame them. I wish myself better luck next time....
Very fine art museum. Also concerts and other happenings. Worth of visit.
