Bangkok night life here
As a night market, it isn’t that impressive nor exciting. But, Silom Night Market is not about night market anyway; it is an experience. If you want to shop for clothes or souvenirs, there are much better markets in Bangkok.
SNM is like the other word for Bangkok gay neighbourhood; every gay man knows about it. It's close to the two most popular clubs in BKK and Soi 4 where the gay bars located. Most businesses around here are for the LGBTQ community, and as a gay man, I felt comfortable and safe around here.
In SNM, there are a few underwear stalls are quite famous and well-known amongst the gays. If you are looking for some sexy underwear, you can give it a try. But, don't expect too much for its quality, you get what you pay.
Silom Night Market is also one of the most famous nite live place in Bangkok and Patpong Street is just one of the T junction of Silom Road. There are many street market during night time but mostly they are selling Thai food such Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, Sea Food Satay, Coconuts Ice Cream and many more... It is nice to spend some times during night time for having dinner and sightseeing. Everyone who come to Bangkok should visit Silom Night Market, there is a MRT Station at Silom Road called Silom Station...
If you want to visit these “ping pong” shows, please be aware of the next points:
1) don’t take tuk tuk or taxis without meters there. They will overcharge you 5 times! And even if you found a taxi with meters on, pay attention to GPS ( they usually try to full you with the directions)
2) NEVER GO TO THE BARS WITH NO NAME (Like bars with the name covered with some kind of trash). They will say that the show is free and you only pay the drinks but after all you will be surrounded by “ladies” screaming at you and threatening you in case you don’t want to pay the amount they want to (about 3000baht). If it will happen to you, do not hesitate to call 1150 (police) because it is completely illegal, or just walk away
3) please be aware even though most Thai people are nice and friendly, some can sometimes (especially at night) be extremely shady and try to scam you in many different ways, search before you visit
Picturesque place. You can find here lots of interesting and weird food and other stuff :)
