It was an adventure to visit this market. A friend and I went on search of locally made baskets and other home decor. To our surprise , there's an extensive variety of home decor products. Mostly locally made. From batik fabrics, ratan baskets and placemats, wooden and coconut shell bowls to wooden door frames and dividers, Bali style. If you like the Bali decor style, this is this is the place to go to find local decoration at affordable pricing.
Busy, bustling, colourful "Street Market" beside the river in Central Denpasar. Fresh produce at its best!!! Ignored the cheap "electrical goods & plastic toys & novelties" - you see at every market!!!! This is a big, vibrant, sprawling market - so much to see - take your time meandering thro the stalls. Stallholders are friendly, always smiling & will offer samples in the hope of a sale!!!
It is the central traditional market.
Most goods from other regions, such vegetables, fishes, crafts, local iconic clothes, souvenirs, and so much more things. They are allocated on separated lofts.
Local people love to have their daily needs here, while tourists love to found souvenirs.
Not as busy as usual but getting back to how it was. Sadly some shops look closed and shuttered for the long term. Those still trading still had lots of stock and variety. The assistants were always on hand to find almost everything you could think you should find from textiles to clothes, handicraft jewellery, and much more. Well worth a visit even if the trader's friendly smiles are now hidden behind a mask. Bargaining usually expected but please remember that they are struggling to make a living right now.
This is traditional market. But somehow i found it very clean and in the meat area which is usually very smelly, it has some scent which is relaxing. Recommended should you need to find regular needs for your household and kitchen.
